Armed conflicts are only one of many indicators of human dysfunctional behaviour. The current spate of rocket attacks by Hamas towards Israel, together with the Israeli Iron Dome rocket-defence system response, lights up the nighttime sky in the photographic image above.

If we’re somehow being closely observed by intelligence far in advance of our own, this combination of technological know-how and emotional immaturity doesn’t reflect well on us. We need to resolve our differences.
