US lawmakers express frustration with Department of Defense’s lack of urgency to investigate UAP

We reported last December that important UAP legislation had been passed to instruct the US Department of Defense (DoD) to further investigate UAP. Now, four months after President Biden signed it off, an aide to Senator Marco Rubio has indicated that the DoD might be dragging its heels. “Rubio is definitely frustrated,” said the aide. “They are not moving fast enough, not doing enough, nor sharing enough.”

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s amendment strengthened the recent legislation and she has referred to the need for a serious investigation of UAP as “an urgent issue”. One of her aides has now said: “Senator Gillibrand believes that the DoD needs to take this issue much more seriously and get in motion. They have had ample time to implement these important provisions and they need to show us that they are prepared to address this issue in the long-term.”

The new UAP office - which has been given the ridiculous name of the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG) - is supposed to be fully operational by June. It has been authorised to utilise “any resource, capability, asset, or process” to investigate UAP. The Pentagon office has been instructed by law to develop an “intelligence collection and analysis plan to gain as much knowledge as possible regarding the technical and operational characteristics, origins, and intentions of unidentified aerial phenomena”.

Representative Tim Burchett

Representative Tim Burchett has now added his views in a refreshingly candid interview with NewsNation: “I think there’s an arrogance in government at that level that we can’t handle what’s going on out there and I think it’s just a bogus cover-up. It doesn’t fit. It’s about power and it’s about control.” The straight-talking politician from Tennessee further urged the Pentagon to cooperate and come clean, stating: “Enough is enough. Bring forth what you’ve got and let the American public decide. I trust the American public. Release it all.” Asked about the likelihood of this actually happening, Burchett responded by saying: “I’d say zero to none because it’s an arrogant bunch of people who run this world and run this country. You know, the ones who are always in power, regardless of who’s in the White House.”

Leland Vittert, who was interviewing Tim Burchett for NewsNation, ended by saying: “Congressman, I don’t think I’ve ever had a more honest interview on any topic with a member [of Congress] before this one.” Referring to what he’s learnt through classified briefings, Burchett’s final words were spot on: “I’d love to tell you what I already know right now, Leland, but I can’t. But hopefully, at some point, I can.”

An unclassified progress report from the AOIMSG is expected by the end of October.
